Is this for classic weddings or for MWS weddings ?
It's for MWS - the entire event panel disappears and is replaced with a 'Wedding Event' banner and no X or way to cancel - but going in to Build/Buy brings it back until you change sim - I didn't grab a screenshot as I just dealt with it until the wedding was over

So basically you lost the tasks for the wedding when switching ?
I gave this a short test and didn't have any issues with switching between household members.
