I don't have the Adventure Awaits add-on, but the icon for the trip appears when I'm organizing a personalized wedding. Time doesn't count down, so I can't end the wedding. I have to save and exit to the main menu to finish.

The X will still appear if you hover over where it's supposed to be. You should be able to cancel from there.
Had this issue 2 months ago, sad to see it STILL isn’t fixed.
Happening to me right now. Started wedding event on home lot. Didn’t realise it was showing the Getaway UI. Completed all the goals, then couldn’t see the X to finish the wedding. Stuck on home lot unable to travel due to active social event. Went to manage worlds, evicted family then put them back into the lot but the event is still going and guests are all still there. No mods/cc, all EPs except occult ones, pretty much all content except for a few kits.
My sims 4 Wedding won’t end its has the getaway sign displayed and won’t allow me to manually end the event my sims get stuck in a never ending wedding! This has really took me out of the game since I have my sims get married all the time. Only way to escape is switching to another person not at the wedding or going to main menu then visiting another lot but I want this issue fixed and I checked mods and that not the issue I removed all mods and the issue still occurred.

The same in my game - ALL wedding events don't have an event timer – the list of goals looks completely different, there is a getaway icon next to the tasks. No mods or CC ever, PC player, having all packs.
Yes, same problem here.
Couldn't use M, go home, or an X and even saving and going to main menu didn't solve it.
But! My freshly wed family could go volunteer together through their phone menu.
After they did, the social event finished 🥳
Just needed a bit of a good deed to get out of wedding prison 🤔
Exactly the same issue. I let the event running (engagement party) and at some point (after approx. 6 hours) it ended by itself.
I had the nerves to schedule also the wedding event and it took 12 hours to end.
This really needs a fix.
i’m currently having the OBNOXIOUS problem that none of my sims events have an “x” to end nor do they end on their own. i’ve cancelled two weddings and an engagement party because i get trapped in them. i’ve lost so much gameplay over this and ive never had this issue until now. i took out all of my mods and dont have any cc that would ruin it. pls help :(
