My sim disappeared and has a lot of tasks to do

If I play sims 4 for like 30 min in. the sims would all the sudden disappear with a lot of task to do and refuse to do any of them because well, they have disappeared is there any way to fix this problem. I keep repairing my game on the EA app, but the problem still persists

    Hi kangaroo1844​ 

    as said via DM, I couldn't duplicate the issue. Let it run in the background for about a Sim day and nothing irregular happened.

    Let's try this (think you haven't done that yet ?)

    Try the following

    - Close the game
    - Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    Repair the game
    - Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry.
    - Close the game
    - Copy the save game with the error from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old\Saves to the new Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
    - Start your save game
    - Check if you still have the error and if you do, try the double load again.
    - Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    You will need the following folders. Just copy the content of these back to the new ones.

    • Tray (your households and lots you have saved to library)
    • Custom Music (if you added any)
    • usersettings(.ini) (you only need this if you changed anything about which packs the game loads. Otherwise you can ignore it)
    • Screenshots (if you've taken any)
    • Videos (if you've taken any)
    • ConfigOverride (if you made any although I recommend redoing those)
    • Options(.ini) (although I recommend to just redo your settings in the game)

     

    Now test again. If that still works, you can put back your mods. Put them back in groups and make sure they are still compatible with the game.

    All other files are recreated and not needed.

    ohhhhh i see now yes please can you explain on how i can get that stuff back I totally forgot about these things.

    Screenshots, videos, custom music, library files (aka houses and Sims you saved to the library)

    Also mods/cc if you want to put any of that stuff back.

    thank you I played my saves in the new sims folder and the problem seemed to cease thank you again

    yes i am on the ea app I repaired my game quite a bit but it never solve the sims problem of having so many task and being idle
