I have the neighborhood stories option for adoption turned off but in the past two weeks I have had two separate households adopt a baby.
The first time it happened was when I was playing in Henford-on-Bagley. My Sim was best friends with a Sim from a different played household that also resides in Henford-on-Bagley and she got a call to say her friend has adopted.
The second time was when I was playing in the same save file but this time my active household lives in Willow Creek. She was romantically involved with another Sim who lives across the street who is not one of my played households and despite being pregnant with his child, a day before giving birth, he called her to say he had adopted.
I play on Xbox and have every pack, kit etc and nearly every Maker Pack. The neighborhood stories option for adoption is definitely turned off.
I am playing on a save file that I created late December/early Jan.

you don't usually get calls for NHS. These can be found when clicking on the option on the mailbox.
Did you get any other phone calls indicating that they wanted to adopt or did you use the discuss expand family interaction with them ?
crinrict Sorry, I didn’t know that you don’t normally get calls for NHS, I just figured that was the setting that was glitching out.
I didn’t discuss the expand family option with either of them and neither of them called me to say they wanted to expand. If they had, I would have refused it as I don’t want either of them to have adopted.
I don’t remember for the first one but for the second one, I did ignore a call from him whilst I was prepping my Sims baby shower. I can’t remember if I let it ring out or crossed it off. Could it have auto selected yes if that was the reason for the call?
It happened again, this time it was my Sims daughter. My Sim lives in Willow Creek, I moved her daughter out with her twin sister to an apartment in San Myshuno and she now has a baby.

Yeah, I got a call a sim day after I noticed to say she had adopted and to come visit. I hadn’t spoken to her though after she moved out and she had been moved out for about a week.
Seems I was wrong. That could be NS. I merged this with another thread for Pregnancy/Adoption happening anyways
