I hosted a class with the new pack and one of the tasks told me to mentor a sim for 30 minutes. Except there's no "mentor" option when a sim is knitting.
The option "teach to knit" is from nifty knitting, but it doesn't count.
Edit By Crinrict: Added pack tag to title. It would greatly help if add pack tags yourself + provide all the thread tags, especially for mod usage.
I have the same problem. I can't find the option to mentor those that attend the classes.

thanks for clarifying. There's a few reports in this thread and one just said that there's no mentoring so it was unclear what the base issue is.
I checked now and my Sim does have the option to mentor knitting. They have actually both mentoring and teaching so it's unclear why it's not showing up for the business class.
OP post says "Hosted a class with the new pack" "task (from hosting class event in new pack) told me to mentor a sim". So the correct label would be [BH][NKSP]. People are me too-ing that they got that task hosting a class with BH as well and cant complete it. Op was pretty specific and you just read "cant mentor knitting"? It just seems disingenuous.
I am not OP but I was one of the people who added that I am having this issue. I just wanted to clarify that the bug I am concerned about is the class aspect with the new pack, when you teach a knitting class using BH it lists one of your required items to earn medal status as “mentor for 30 minutes” but there is no mentoring for knitting. There would be multiple ways to resolve this, if they changed the class requirement to “teach to knit for 30 min” when teach to knit is an existing interaction, or if they made the teach to knit actions from NK count as mentoring. it is the cross pack aspect of the class requirements that I am looking for to be fixed.
You can't knit without the knitting pack. Business or not. Hence it's a knitting pack bug.
Also, mentoring is base game. So if the option doesn't appear at all, it would be base game. If it's specific to classes, it would be BH but I'm unsure from the description given what's the case so that tag has not been added.
I understand you're busy and bugs are coming in fast for the new pack and hard to keep up with I'm sure but this is a BH bug not a NKSP bug. It doesnt seem right to be kinda sharp with OP and then not label it correctly yourself. I say this because I thought it was a new knitting (w/ BG) bug but it's not, it's from the new pack.
Same issue. No mentoring in knitting option available.
This is most likely due to the fact that sims were previously never able to multitask while knitting. They were never able to talk to any other sims or even listen to the radio (unless you clicked listen to radio first and then sat down to knit.) Sims were also never able to interact with any other sim who was knitting.
I often used knitting as a way to just make a sim sit still for a while because they can't perform any other autonomous actions while knitting.
