I can confirm that my Sim cannot share the news of pregnancy with anyone. Not even her partner. She can Try for baby in both the first and second trimesters (I forgot to check the third trimester)
To my surprise, an option appeared to offer another Sim to feel her belly in the third trimester. Fortunately, it also became possible to take maternity leave.
