Sim joined painter career, promoted as normal until level 6 where we have to choose a career path. After this, no more promotions, just earning a raise. I tried with multiple careers and it still occurs. Every time my sim finishes work and starts daily task, the performance bar rests from excellent to average.

None of my sims in any game will get a promotion. They just get repeated raises. I don't have any mods and this began in randomly during gameplay. I play on a PC.
Is there any solution? Will uninstalling Sims 4 and redownloading work?

This was the culprit for me as well. As soon as I removed the trait, I started getting promotions again.
Do you have the entrepreneurial trait that you buy in the aspirations reward store? I'm having the same problem and I read that is where the bug might be š
I pay on console, PS5 with no add ons.
I am currently on MVP +25 and continue to get raises DAILY instead of promotions. I tried quitting and reapplying to the job. I tried playing hooky-- even on days I played hooky, I got my raise and bonus instead of going down in job performance. I wasn't even there!
I tried resetting the console. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I tried playing another household for a bit to try to "reset" this one. I'm at a loss.

My sims are in 2 different careers and for some reason they are not getting promotions.

I have had to remove the Entrepreneurial trait and seems to work fine again. That trait is supposed to help with getting promotions not stop you getting them so i'm assuming its a bug in that reward trait?
I have no mods and most of the dlcs and packs. I had to use the cheat to remove the trait.

I caught up on the topic and saw that Entrepeneur was the culprit. I used a cheat to remove that, and he didn't get a raise. (No promotion either, but I kinda expected that, given how his progress bar kept resetting...) Hopefully it continues to progress and he can get promoted.
I've seen this twice myself. PC, various expansions. I do use mods, but apparently this topic's creator doesn't, so I suppose that's probably not the cause. Currently, my Sim is a level 8 painter, Master of the Real track. He gets a raise every single time he goes to work - or even on vacation days!! (I have Seasons.) But then his bar resets, so it's impossible for him to reach level 9.
It's not a huge loss in this case - the best career reward for the Painter track is unlocked at level 8 anyway. Still weird.
EDIT: Caught up on the topic. Apparently it's the Entrepeneur trait? I used a cheat to remove that, and he didn't get another raise after his next day of work. Of course, he didn't get a promotion either, since his progress bar kept resetting, but hopefully it won't reset this time.
Yeah iām playing on xbox one and have gotten 7 raises and been to work with tasks completed and working hard for over a week and am still at average for the painter career
