Online Connection Required

Its the new update with the pregnancy fix. Whatever EA did removed the online access to consoles across the board. Xbox, Playstation. Im a PS4 player and I cant collect anything or even see my gallery

Glad to know it's not just me. I've been stuck on a goal that wouldn't tick off on the "Nature Calling event" and I was finally able to move past it, only to find there's a connection issue!

I had the same issue last night on PlayStation. Did you notice if your start menu showed signs of being online? Like the news links on the side and such.

It was working in offline mode while actually in play (CAS, BB, live) but was showing online in my start menu. Turned in the event from there, and it's now online properly in live mode.

Not sure if using the event from different screen did it, or if today's patch has anything to do with it. Just food for thought

I jumped back in, and the issue is now resolved for me. On one of the posts on this forum, someone suggested to relink the ea account. I checked my ea account on my pc, and did a quick update. It was linked to my ps4, so I don't know if checking that resolved it, or if the issue just resolved itself after waiting and trying the game again later. Maybe try that. 

Yeah, I'm experiencing this issue, too. I thought it was just something wrong with my wifi, but it's connected perfectly. It'll probably be fixed soon.

My partner using my account to play sim 4 and having same troubles as well hopefully will get fixed asap 

Guys its not anything to do with the pregnancy update it was happening to me yesterday b4 it launched you have to link to ea go into settings select other and check box link to ea account

Hey! I was also having this issue on my ps5. As I saw others suggest, I went into the menu, down to game options, and chose the option to link my EA account. I had already had it linked, but the update must have messed that up 🙄. The game restarted and I was able to claim the event rewards, no further issues. Hope this helps 💜.

I thought that would work so I tried it and it’s still saying online connection is required and is telling me to go online to receive rewards but I don’t know how 😭

I have been having this issue all week and I'm on PS5. I've restarted the playstation, my router, and the game. I get all the news updates on the side in the main menu and ps5 says I'm online but when I try to redeem the event rewards it still keeps telling me I need to be online. I have no idea what's going on but hopefully it gets fixed soon 

I had the same issue. Go into the games settings while you're on the sims main menu and then go and link your ea account to your sims game. Then turn the system off and then turn it back on. That's what worked for me.

I was also having this issue but founding this thread helped me! I went in my settings, hit the button to connect ea account(already done this before) and now I'm able to claim the rewards after the prompted restart x

I have the same issue right now (Tue, Jul 22) I wasnt on sims 4 for about 3 days maybe and I get back on to do the Nature's Calling event and im completing task and go to collect the items I unlocked and its saying Online Connection is Required. I've restarted my Xbox One twice+ and I disconnected from the wifi but the game itself doesn't say anything about a online connection problem, just with the event.

Did you ever get this sorted? I read elsewhere that some players were logging into their EA accounts on a pc and re-linking their Playstation accounts from PC rather than directly on the console and THAT was working for them.
