Parent isn't recognized as parent with science baby

when my sims have a science baby, neither sim is recognized as the baby's parents and need to be assigned as care givers for them to take care of the baby autonomously.    this has persisted when...

I meant growing together, not get together, I forgot that they have the same acronyms, sorry.

This has happened with mods installed and without. This happened to separate families - one that i used mods for and one that i did not use mods for.

AFAIK, science babies were added to base.

    they were, i added it because i wasn't sure if maybe that expansion was affecting it as well sorry
