When I launch The Sims 4 and want to play with my family, I can't. I can't even save anything to the gallery and I can't save my family. When I try to press "Play," it just goes to a loading screen and then redirects me to the main page. This happened after the last update.

Could you please provide the following information
- Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
- What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox)
- To be sure, it crashes before you even get a chance to load a save game or when you try to load a specific save ?
If you play with mods, take out all of your script mods. I had the same problem. The update has messed with scripted mods and you can’t use them even if you update them.
