I have updated my game, using the save that was corrupted by the last patch and tested that. I have not tested an older clean back-up save.
The households that were affected before the newest patch are exactly the same, the photos that were black and pictures white remain. I also tried a different household that I hadn't opened since the January patch, and that has black photos now too.
I'm going to wait for further information before rolling back to my clean save and testing that.
Are you using mods/cc and if so, did you remove them ?
I don't use mods.
What is your game version ?
I just updated with the latest patch.
What platform are you playing on ?
Mac
Is this happening to existing photos that were fine before the patch ?
It's happening to a household which was fine before the January patch, which I hadn't opened between that patch and the latest one. Every photo in it is now black.
Does it happen with new photos/paintings
I took some photos with both the phone and the mid-priced base game camera, then switched to another household, saved and returned. The pictures were in the sim's personal inventory and not black.
Does it happen on new saves ?
Not tried this.
Does it matter how you take the photo or if you add any filter ?
Not tried this except for using phone and mid-priced camera, as above. No filter was applied.
How big is your screenshot folder in documents ?
97.25gb
HI KLoxxon
could you try moving your screenshots folder to the desktop (or some other place) to see if that makes a difference at all ?
Also did you send your save to EA_Solaire ?
DeeliciousSims Thank you.
Kritterly Do you have the backup still and did you send it ?

Thankfully I restored a back up file and the older save is just fine. I sent the link to the damaged save file to EA_Solaire.
