When I place photos taken with phones or cameras in my Sims’ house, they turn black when I exit the game and come back to play!!!! 😢😢

I switched back to a save dating from just before the bad January patch and this has fixed most of my issues.
I still have some black photos knocking about in household and personal inventories, but I think that's because they were lost already before the January patch.
I've been taking new photos and making new paintings in various households to test things and so far so good.
Did you place your photos and paintings in a lot that you had saved to the gallery and then retrieved when you launched your save, or did it work straight away when you loaded your household?
Hi DoublePlusBon. I had made a back-up save file just before the January patch. I rolled back to that in entirety and I've ditched the save file I had covering the Jan-Feb period between patches. I had practically given up on the game during that time anyway, since EA had a fix but sat on it for ages.
My current save is not perfect, but I think the few black photos I am now finding in inventories were there already prior to the Jan patch. So far no new pics I've taken have turned black.
Someone below rolled back to a December save file following the latest patch and reported success too. I just wanted to report my experience as well in case it helps other people trying to work out what to do.
Needless to say this is sub-optimal ://. I am sorry for people who are still struggling with this terrible bug. I am also not confident that this is fixed for good. crinrict's advice to make back-up saves is obviously right and having them definitely helped me here. But I do agree with IndusNoir that this is going to have ramifications for people for a long time because EA delayed putting out a fix for the bad January patch.
As far as I’m concerned, I haven’t bought any new packs or kits since Business and Hobbies, and I haven’t done any updates since July. I play offline. I’m therefore hoping I’ll be able to do the same as you and preserve my photos when I eventually decide to update. The bugs are piling up and remain unresolved despite EA’s promises, so I’m waiting… In any case, thank you for your advice.
