Plants look dead while being in season/inside and functional

I started a new farm in my legacy save with a new Sim I created, now all of my plants look dead, I am on day 5 of spring, both the plants in the neighborhood and my crops that are in season. this happened during Fall and winter for in season crops also. I play on a PC, no mods or cc.

I merged your post with another thread on dead looking plants but to be sure, are they dead or do they just look dead (like your title suggested) ?

I'm having difficulty with a handful of the base game and the romantic garden pack plants. They started out great, but soon died. I tried using the right-click debug cheat, but they're still dead. Please help!!

This is happening in my game too, except my plants are outside. But despite being in season, fully watered and fertilized, they are all gray, the way they would get if dead. (The yellow colored plants in the picture are the out of season ones.) I don't have the new pack; I do have MCCC and UI cheats in my game, both updated.

guess so haha. has to be just as the fairy pack comes out
