Random sims walking through house/apartment

Sometimes sims who are just walking through the neighborhood seem to cut through my sims’ backyard and house. My sims don’t know them, and haven’t invited them in. They just walk through and go?

Obviously this isn’t a really bad bug, and doesn’t affect my gameplay massively, but it’s also clearly not meant to happen!

There are several issues when Sims will walk into your home. This particular thread is for Sims walking through your apartment/house without stopping or doing something else. They just use your house as a short cut.

Since your uninvited guest stopped and did things while they were there, this is the wrong thread for your post. You need to click the link they provided for similar issues and and find the right topic so that you can get your problem properly reported. If you upvoted the topic here don't forget to remove your vote. This happens to me a lot too because sometimes it is so hard to find the right topic to report under, if I can find it at all.

Thanks! I must have overlooked and didn’t realize I’m in the wrong thread. Guess I’m getting old ;)

Aren't we all lol! I will remove my posts to you in an hour or so to clear up the thread since many don't really seem to read further than a few posts. Good luck out there!

  • I just had this happened to me. I had a random teen sim, who is a friend of the teen sims in the household, just wander into the house and into the backyard where the teen female sim is gardening and ask her if she wanted to go to the prom with him.
Of course I chose the no option. He had the audacity to wander into her home without an invitation, walk up to her and ask her to prom? She has a boyfriend that she is very serious with.
He's lucky that I didn't have her boyfriend pick a fight with him and beat him up. I still might if he tries something again.

I sent the interloper on his way with MC Command Center and changed their relationship from 60 to negative 60 because he was completely rude. He could have called. He could have asked her at school the next day, but no, he had to trespass on her property to ask her.

Sometimes I miss having the security robot from Sims 3 so you can have them zap the sims that trespass and sometimes I wish that the security alarm was for more than just burglars. I sure would love to upgrade it and zap the heck out of trespassers.

Wrong thread. This thread is for sims that use your house as a shortcut without stopping and doing anything.

  • I used this image below in another bug report to show how customers left once I closed my business, but I also had several NPC sims who weren't customers come in when I opened, just to walk this exact path (shown below) THROUGH the business, through the employee-only area, and out the front door of my sim's home (residential only area). They weren't even acquaintances of my sim. So I think it belongs here in this thread, since they didn't stop to do anything but passed right through as though no "rules" were set on these areas.

Random Sims will no longer enter the home without knocking when using sliding doors.

    Fixed in Patch 1.119.109/2.23

Personal note: really unsure if that was really the issue but we'll see :D
