[RL] Children from unplayed Nobles don't receive title/not added to Dynasty
When members of the pre-loaded Dynasties (unplayed) have children (Capp, Monty, Thebes, etc) from neighborhood stories, they are not automatically added to the dynasty and do not get their parent's noble title. I can add them to the dynasty by playing as the household head but they still do not receive their parent's noble titles (Lord, Lady, etc). It kind of defeats the purpose of having a dynasty and lineage system for those unplayed households
I did not start a new save for Royalty and Legacy so that could be part of the issue. Playing on PC. No Mods or CC
Edit By crinrict: Added Tag to Title, Adjusted Title
I've been playing a rotational save, Mac, no mods.
Cordelia is now Queen of Ondarion, so Thiago is King by marriage. But Cordelia & Thiago's twin children, born while I was playing a different household, do not have any noble title. The game thinks they're commoners.
I tested having Cordelia have another baby. If I'm actively playing the Thebe household, the baby is born a prince or princess. But if the baby is born while I am playing another household, the child doesn't receive a noble title at all.
What should happen: Children of Kings/Queens/Monarchs should be born Prince/Princess even if they're not the active household when born.
Should say Prince Russell, because parents are King/Queen of Ondarion. But instead there is no noble title for the children. The first two children were born while I was playing another household, and have no noble title or border in the family tree. The newborn was born while I was actively playing the Thebe family, and was born a Princess.
I have a save file set up with Cordelia in labor if EA needs to replicate the bug.
Does anyone know of a workaround cheat to get the titles back?
Edited to add Workaround: To recover noble titles for the children, the noble parent(s) need to be promoted, or (if the parents are already King/Queen) demoted then promoted. That should fix issues with the spouse/children's titles.
Evicting the household then moving them back in demotes any household sims in the Noble career. Or to quickly demote / promote with cheats, with testing cheats on, use "careers.demote noble" / "careers.promote noble"
No, they weren't born into the dynasty. I had to add them manually when I switched to the household.
They age up to infant with the Blue Blood trait, but no title and obviously none of the bonus traits for being born into a dynasty. (I cheated to give them the Mild Physical Affinity trait they should've been born with)
I can see in the Thebe family tree where the Montys had a few kids with NS though, and they didn't join their dynasty. (They're not noble so I can't check titles.)
Noble Career promotion/demotion seems to reset the titles. So the workaround for the kids (if the parents are already monarchs) is to have a parent abdicate, or cheat to demote and re-promote. Or evict and move them in again, which would demote them a level.
Happens with me too. Firstly, new children in all played but not active at the moment households didn`t enter the dynasty but got titles. For now, they stopped even get titles (several families, all or at least one of the parents into noble career, all of the parents are part of some dynasty).
Here are a couple of examples: it is all played households, but I was actively playing another one at the time all these children were born (stories disabled for all of them). 1) A child not only didn`t receive any title, but was also born "secret" (their parents are married and live together, but from different dynasties in this case). 2) Parents are not married, they are from different dynasties, but at first I wasn`t able to start a secret romance between them (no available option), at second - all their children are born legitimate even though they are actually not. None of them didn`t go automatically to some dynasty; I added them myself.
I got an absolutely random legitimate/secret child flag in any case (parents married, inmarried, secret lovers, not secret lovers, one or different dynasties, no matter, played or unplayed, initiated pregnancy by player or by stories/mod, it is random if I am not present at the moment of birth), but absolutely none of them joined the dynasty without me doing it by hand. It really kills the dynasty's purpose. A couple of my dynasties were no longer available because their descendants didn't join automatically, so I had to do "dirty fixes" and a really crazy scheme to "revive" them with mods' help. It is not supposed to work like that; it simply is not fun.
