Hello,
I am experiencing major save issues in my game. I have already had many problems with saves failing after around 15 hours of play (for example, animals dying in “Cottage Living” where I could no longer save because the event gets stuck).
Currently, I am playing a game with the Heritage & Royalty pack. This save was working fine until the moment I tried to save and received the following error code: Error 423 (see attached screenshot). After about 15 hours of play, the save stops working completely.
I have tried many fixes: creating a new “The Sims 4” folder, cleaning my save folder, clearing the cache — nothing works. I have contacted EA twice for help, but either I get no response or they send generic technical solutions meant for other games, not The Sims 4.
I want to clarify that I have no mods or CC, and I make sure not to overload my game (I organize inventories, do not play with huge households, do not accumulate NPCs, and I don’t make overly large or cluttered houses).
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Error 423 usually points to a corrupted save or something stuck in the world state. Even without mods this can happen after long sessions.
A couple things worth trying:
- Use “Save As” with a new slot instead of normal save
- Go to Manage Worlds first, then save from there
- Load an earlier backup from the saves folder (files ending in .save.ver0–4)
- Try saving from a different lot or household
If the save works for ~15 hours and then breaks again, something in the world is probably getting stuck (events, NPC states, animals, etc.), which eventually blocks the save process. Loading an earlier backup is usually the safest recovery.
Yes, I’ve already seen all these solutions, and I’ve already tried all of them. Nothing works. I can play for 10 minutes, and then error 423 appears again. I contacted EA directly; they had me do a bunch of troubleshooting steps, but it doesn’t fix the problem, which keeps happening consistently.

If you're not sure, feel free to copy and paste the contents of a fresh lastexception file into a reply here, and someone will look it over for you.
Try and add this file: Lastexecption.
Files --> Documents --> EA - The Sims 4 --> lastException. There could be more than one, just add the latest.
