I'm having this problem too, I hope it gets fixed soon, you can't play dynasties like this. It's ruined my entire legacy set.

Since the recent update, every time I load into my game, I get the message that my sim has just joined a dynasty. He's been in it since he was born (he's a teen) and it resets his rank within the dynasty back to 7th ( he was rank 2). It resets every time I load into the game.

Like they were part of a family and now they are in separate pre-made or new dynasty. Or my sims divorced they came back to their previous dynasty or created new and kids keep adding back to their dynasty. It happens on sims I created and on pre-made families.

I don't know if this is a bug or by intention but I have noticed this after the latest update. The noble leader, rank 10, usually a king/queen no longer has any control over who joins the dynasty. He/she can still remove sims from the dynasty but when logging in to the household the next time a message shows saying that this and this sim has joined the dynasty and it is often the ones he just removed before who rejoined on their own initiative. So basically the leader has no control over who is in the dynasty anymore. When they rejoin their social meter is also more or less red as they are angry because they got removed, which in turns causes a dynasty crisis. The thing is, most of these sims which he removed from the dynasty are not even nobles. They are children to the lowest ranked nobles so not even nobles themselves but they still want to belong to the dynasty. In the long run this means that most sims, even commoners, in our worlds will have joined dynasties and there will hardly be any commoners left but only nobles, more or less, as the number of nobles increase by each generation.
I think the leader should still be in charge of who is in the dynasty and those he/she removed shouldn't be able to rejoin by themselves. Only the leader should be able to invite other sims to join the dynasty, not vice versa. At some rank level, thus lower than the lowest level, sims shouln't attempt to join a dynasty and succeed with it on their own initiative just like that. Is this a bug?

Why each time an update is released to fix and improve some things, they manage to terribly break some other things that are working perfectly fine? It's so funny. :)))) Thank goodness I haven't installed the update yet, and this issue you're talking about is not even a bug or glitch. It's a major obvious whole script error that breaks an entire EP. Sounds so bad.

Good evening, I'm a PC player using only MCCC. Since applying the May 12th patch to The Sims 4, I've been experiencing a very troublesome issue. It's happening even with MCCC removed, so I wanted to report it.
It seems a feature has been added that automatically adds blood relatives to a dynasty, but its effect is far too strong. Every time I load a household or enter and exit CAS, it seems a dynasty joining check for Sims is performed. And all blood relative Sims are automatically added to the dynasty based on the check result. Even Sims who are already the head of another dynasty were no exception. He was added to his father's dynasty, a dynasty he had never belonged to before. And because of this, he can no longer open the control panel for his own dynasty…! This inoperable dynasty still appears to the other members as if he is the head, just as before. However, even if he left his father's dynasty on his own, or if his father's dynasty leader was expelled, his dynasty's control panel did not reactivate. Furthermore, even after leaving or being expelled from a dynasty, reloading the household would erase those changes. The same thing happened with other dynasties; Sims related to two dynasties were re-evaluated each time the household was loaded, and instead of the dynasty I had set, the system would arbitrarily decide which one they belonged to.
I've found two workarounds so far. One is to ensure both parents belong to the same dynasty. The other is to create a new dynasty immediately after the troubled Sim leaves the dynasty on their own. In fact, I gave up on trying to regain control of the uncontrollable dynasty and instead created a new dynasty with the troubled Sim, recruited the previous members, and moved them to the new dynasty. This prevented him from being returned to his father's dynasty.
In short, Sims with descent from multiple dynasties, even if they leave a dynasty on their own, or are banished by the current dynasty's leader, are forcibly returned to the dynasty the system arbitrarily decided upon simply by loading a lot.
It seems the only way to break this loop is for those Sims to create a new dynasty themselves. The power of the patch that automatically joins dynasties is truly too strong.

Me too , I'm a PC player using only MCCC (and the issue also occurs with MCCC disabled). After the May 12th patch, a new feature that automatically adds blood relatives to Dynasties has become overly aggressive and is causing major problems.
Issue:
Every time I load a household or enter/exit CAS, the game performs a dynasty membership check. All blood relatives are then automatically added to a dynasty, even if they are already the head of their own separate dynasty. In my case, a Sim who was the head of his own dynasty was forcibly added to his father’s dynasty (which he had never belonged to before). Because of this:- He can no longer open the control panel for his own dynasty.
- His own dynasty still shows him as the head to other members.
- Even if he leaves the father’s dynasty manually, or the father’s leader expels him, the changes are reverted upon reloading the household.
- The game arbitrarily decides which dynasty he belongs to, overriding player actions.
This creates a loop where Sims with connections to multiple dynasties keep being reassigned.
Workarounds found:
- Make sure both parents belong to the same dynasty.
- Have the troubled Sim create a completely new dynasty right after leaving, then recruit previous members to the new one.
In short, the automatic dynasty joining system added in the May 12 patch is too powerful and breaks dynasty management for legacy families with complex trees.
Platform: PC
Mods: Only MCCC (issue persists without it)

The update yesterday messed all of my dynasties up too. It added 20+ members to one dynasty, while some of those members are already within other dynasties. If I go in to those households manually and remove them from the dynasty, as soon as I leave the lot, they get added back. Or if I remove them by the Dynasty Head, if I leave the lot, they all get added back to the dynasty for some reason. Now I have many sims in multiple dynasties, including Dynasty Heads and Heirs.
Edit: leaving the lot or encountering any loading screen will reset my dynasties to have the many additional members
Playing on PC, no mods and issue still happening. crinrict
