Dynasty glitch: sims walking away from player directed actions to read books with Scholarly Ideal activated

Dynasty members are obsessed with their 'ideals'! My Sim will literally stop cooking dinner halfway through to go read a book, or drop a nearly finished painting to play guitar. They just abandon everything for these 'correct' actions.
Example: I gave my Sim the task to paint a picture. Almost immediately, the Sim queues up 'read a book' (because Education is a dynasty ideal) and thereby interrupts their current tasks.
I tested this with different dynasties, in new saves, without mods.
Platform: PC (Steam/Ea app)
Mods: None
Same! Gettign a sim to cook one (1) meal uninterrupted is a challenge now, must commune with the departed. Tested in different dynasties with different ideals etc - it's a general priority issue.
