Dynasty glitch: sims walking away from player directed actions to read books with Scholarly Ideal activated

I'm experiencing this as well. My sims keeps dropping whatever he is doing to read. Seems to happen most commonly with longer activities, such as working on the robotic station and painting. He has no other traits or rewards that would push him to read other than the scholarly ideal. No mods or CC (removed before R&L released), playing on PC.
