I am having this trouble as well, It looks like a recurrence of [FIXED] [ROM] Spellcaster eyes not working properly | EA Forums - 11423259 which is marked as "fixed".
I have a sim who became a spellcaster, I went to cas.fulleditmode to give him updated ears and eyes, but every time I enter live mode, his eyes are a random "normal" color instead (I have been selecting the solid black eyes).
I am playing on PC, I am up-to-date on my game and have no mods or cc on this save file, or for about the past year. This save file is 3 days old, so it includes the first "Businesses and Hobbies" update. I do not own: B&H, Lovestruck, Life&Death, HighSchool, Weddings, and a number of the Kits.
