playing on pc without mods and I'm having the same issues

Don't use dislikes. Dislikes are extremely overpowered. I had a Sim not like sporty sims and he fell out of love with his wife within an hour when she did yoga. It's really sad, because it would have been a nice game mechanic, but not like this!
Also decay for unplayed couples in rotational gameplay is not okay! Please fix that!

I have this issue to the point that I downloaded a mod to fix the issue with romance decay, when I previously had no mods. I play PC.

I have this too and it's a pain, would be good if we could switch it off to be honest.
On ps5 so no mods or CC

To anyone reviewing this dilemma with romance decay, can you guys possibly make it so that lovestruck has a toggle in gameplay somewhere so that we can just turn off time-related romantic decay? You guys could look at lumpinou's 'no romantic decay mod', because it is amazing. Essentially, if you don't do any action to intentionally hurt the relationship (like mean things, or romance things the other sim doesn't like) then the relationship won't decay, nor would the satisfaction and sentiments.
How you guys have it currently uses time (where if your sims aren't woohoo-ing all day everyday, nonstopped, they suddenly feel unsatisfied, get heartbroken, have all romance lost, and want to get divorce -and nobody can keep up with that type of gameplay (and I have several escort service type sims in my game and even with the gameplay I do with them, which is highly romance action-centric, even those sims will fall out of romance). There are folks who comment about leaving to rotate to other sims and their romance decays within 2 sim days...with mine (without lumpinou's mod) if my sims go off to work (which they have to do to earn simoleans each day) by the time they come back a full bar has gone down to half; and if they don't boink their partner sim after work (or stop to do a hobby for a few hours) the rest of the bar is gone and they want to divorce each other. You simply cannot play this game like that. I don't use any game-affecting mod other than the lumpinou 'no romance decay mod'. I have some cc decor items, but those definitely don't affect gameplay. Without lumpinou's mod I would not be able to play this game -and I absolutely love this game (because I'm a collector of characters and this is a great place to make, build, and play with them and have fun). If you guys do something about this issue at all, I think the best fix would be to have 'romance decay by time' be a toggle button a person can control; and I think that button shouldn't affect lumpinou's mod just in case it needs to still be accessible as a troubleshoot for potential glitches that could occur when you guys try to fix this issue. I personally didn't want to report on this at one point because I thought if you tried fixing it then the mod would break and then nothing would work at all, and I definitely don't want that (personally).

i have the same thing since getting the love struck pack! romance goes from full to gone in just a couple of days and then they will start autonomously start doing mean interactions and threatening to divorce each other if im not constantly checking them!

I’ve got the same issue. Just to add: I play rotational style, and whenever I’m not actively playing a household, their romance still drops super fast. That feels off, because it would make sense if romance decay was frozen for households that are “on hold.” Same way it works with fame — it doesn’t change unless you’re actively playing that sim. It’d be great if romance satisfaction only decayed for active sims, not for NPCs or inactive households.
P.S. I do play with CC, but I tested with all mods/CC removed and it makes no difference for this gameplay issue.

Same as others, the relationship decays unrealistically quickly. My legacy save founders have been unhappy and wanting a divorce after just a few days. It has gotten to the point where if I don't do some significant romantic interaction everyday. This has only been since I got lovestruck. I play a lot of family and legacy gameplay and this has made the game laborsome instead of fun.

Only mod I play with is UI Cheats but even without mods I run into this problem. - lucombre2 days agoSeasoned Ace
As I unfortunately expected, the huge issue of Romantic Satisfaction decay in inactive couples - reported in Romantic Relationships decay/become negative fast with no interaction | EA Forums - 4947168 - was NOT fixed.
Basically, if you play a couple who are soulmates, both Very Satisfied, Wholesome dynamic, full friendship and relationship bars, no Fear of Being Alone, no negative sentiments, no negative traits, etc., and then rotate to another household for awhile (at least an in-game week or two), then return to the first household, their Romantic Satisfaction will now be Very Unsatisfied. This happens 100% of the time in my experience with numerous couples.
This completely ruins Lovestruck gameplay for established couples in rotational play.
Potential fixes I can think of:
- Ideally, simply prevent RS decay for couples in which both sims are inactive
- If this somehow isn't possible, options could potentially include a reward trait that prevents RS decay for that sim, or some kind of relationship option for this
- If absolutely nothing else is possible, let us simply turn off Romantic Satisfaction (this is not ideal but definitely better than the current situation)
