I'm not sure why but 2 evil gnomes randomly appeared in my Sims house, destroyed the kitchen, another gnome appeared and all 3 joined forces to destroy the computer room. One of my Sims tried to beg for forgiveness and got electrocuted by lightning :( I could get rid of them by selling them, I just don't understand why they appeared 😭
I have the new nature pack and it was NOT harvestfest.
This just happened to me. My Sim does not have an ailment and there are no NPCs on the lot. I also haven't received any notice as to why they are there. My Sim was "Pleading for forgiveness" many times and they can not be appeased.

Hi Aurorabig! There’s no upvote on this post because it is not a bug report, but just a gameplay question on the possible causes of gnomes.
If even when testing without mods, you still get gnomes without it being harvest fest or there being any nearby sims with an ailment, you should upvote the bug report here:
