I have noticed that every holiday in the game has the popup for the Love Day holiday. They show up normally on the calendar itself. I even get the popup for the correct holiday starting the next day....

don't know. Depends what went wrong. There was a similar report at the old AHQ where a holiday got stuck but yours sounds different as it's just the same holiday.

Going to put this on review for Maxis to look into. For now it's either new save or live with the same holiday unless someone else knows of a workaround.
Thanks! At least I wasn't too far into this save, since when I started it I was pretty busy and only played sporadically. There's some sims I didn't want to lose that I made, but I guess it's not the worst ever to restart. I do want to play with all the holidays!
It should work to save the Sims to your library and move them to a new save.
