After using the antique nesting blocks, this item will randomly disappear leaving an ash mark that goes through rugs/flooring. I also cannot delete the mark or clean it up, but I cannot place anything where the blocks used to be.

Here to say I play on mac and have experienced this, but I play with mods so my save file won't be useful unfortunately. Toddler was spelling with the blocks and there was a prolonged visual glitch between states (straight line of blocks to stacked) which made me impatiently cancel the interaction before it was completed. This led to the blocks completely disappearing and I have the shadow of the blocks in their straight line formation. No option to select anything where the blocks were. Extra-unfortunate is my sims live in San Myshuno apartments meaning I can't use the basement trick to get rid of them, nor can I delete the room properly...
Okay, but what if the room these invisible blocks are on is on the second floor?
This worked, thank you! I had to remember to disable bb.moveobjects for it to work, but thank you for ending the frustration! Once the invisible blocks were in the inventory, I just sold them and bought a new set to replace them.
Hello, this bug has been going on for a few years, on my end at least. The nesting blocks for toddlers/infants will disappear once I enter live mode, and the only thing remaining will be the shadow. The toddlers and infants can still play with them at their own will, but I can't move them in build/buy mode, nor can I cheat to reset them. The only way that i've found that works is removing the floor of the room that they're placed in completely. This doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough to be annoying. I do have mods installed at the moment, but this also occurs in my unmodded saves with mods disabled. My game and all of my mods are up to date.
I have also experienced this glitch. I don't know if this is related but I was using the nesting blocks from Storybook Nursery and the texture flickered to the basic nesting block texture while played with on multiple occasions before the blocks became invisible.
EA_Cade I just placed the blocks down in my unmodded save. If they disappear (they have in the past in my other saves), I will update this or let you know. I'm playing with the same save I sent to Solaire, and even though I've since updated, I think it would probably be the same on that one. But if you need a new save, please let me know. Thanks!

EA_Cade it took several uses but it finally happened again (so now I know it's not mod-related):

I ended up putting a decoration "toy" on top of the shadow so it doesn't look weird, because unfortunately, it will not disappear.
As the title describes, the nesting blocks from the Story Book Nursery kit keeps disappearing when toddlers play with them. It has now happened twice. The game seems to register them still being there as there is a shadow and you can’t place objects on the tile the blocks were on, otherwise they are invisible and you can’t interact with them. If you click on the area where they should be you also don’t get the option to go there.
They always disappear while my toddler’s are using them.
I have not tested if it also is a problem with the base game blocks but it is getting a bit annoying. I am pretty sure this only started happening after the new update. I updated my game Sunday after the update had been out for a few days. (Don’t think this has anything to do with the bug but it might clear up where the problem lays).
Picture shows the blocks I am using and on either side you can se 4 small shadows in the size of the blocks.
I play on a windows computer and while I have used CC 4+ years ago, I have never used CC on my current computer and have nothing installed either. I have never used mods. I play via the EA app.
Just had this happen to me I used the blocks for days IRL and now they are gone 😩.
This just happened to me! Building a wall through the shadow where the blocks were forcibly returned the blocks to my household inventory where I was able to sell them, so thanks to the person who suggested that.
