The new short dirty nails from the July 1st update cause visual glitches with my sims. Video and photo attached showing what exactly happens. I'm on PS5 with no mods. The longer dirty nail set seems to work just fine, only the shorter one is giving me visual glitching.

I don't know if it helps but it seems to happen only on women sims.
Some of my sims have started getting covered in white squares, both in their post CAS photos and their player photo (I don't know what it's called, please see pictures).
This has happened so far to some of my new female sims, but not all, and non of the male sims.
Could it be a certain type of clothing or make up?
The squares don't appear on the sim itself when in live mode, but is there in their photo all the time, in live mode, in CAS, in the gallary, in main manu.
Restarting the game does not help.
I am on a PC, I have no mods or CC and current game version is 1.120.117.1030 DX11
Making a new sim in create a sim and i noticed when looking at the nail polishes that one of them whenever I clicked it to look at it made my sim excessively shiny like disco ball level shiny, if I could include an image of it I would, but it's near the bottom of that nails menu with the black around the edges of the nail. I know I'm not really using it anyways as it's not my style for my sims but I know other may use it and not want the disco ball sim. Just found it an amusing bug and thought i should report it.
All three Sims had the short nails. I switched to the longer variation as suggested, and no more problem!
Shortest dirt nail swatches with the green swatch in the middle is causing the whole sim to glisten with a white shimmer and whit lines all over their body over the clothes. This is on the Xbox version and happens every time the nails are applied.
Thank you for sharing this with me! I never thought to search "metallic". I know two of the three have short nails on, but I can't remember if the third does. Either way, I'll take them off later and see if that fixes it.

The only current fix (as far as I know, and excluding any mod-related solutions) is to remove the swatch. But there might be other suggestions buried in the thread.
My game has decided to lean into the "dollhouse" aspect of The Sims by turning my Sims into actual dolls. Since the update that introduced the "Skin Details" category for CAS, I've noticed three Sims in my game that randomly get covered from head to toe in a thick, shiny gloss. I didn't report it until now because I assumed someone else would (imagine my surprise when I only found posts from like 7 years ago!😱), and I assumed it only occurred to Sims I wasn't actively playing. Turns out it still happens if I am actively controlling the Sim.
All three affected Sims are from households I rotate between. One of the three Sims is a mermaid while the other two are normal Sims; all three are young adults; and all are women. Have yet to see a Sim with a masculine frame get this bug. Finally, the plastic sheen is completely random. It just comes and goes. Changing outfits doesn't remove it; only time does.
I have two mods: MCCommand Center and All Cheats. I removed them to see if the issue persisted, and it did. Screenshots are from after the mods were removed.
I don't know if NPCs are affected because I never remember them (or maybe I've never seen it?), but I'll try to pay closer attention and update this if that is the case. The other post that I found was due to custom clothing, but I have never ever installed custom clothing in my game. And I saw a fix where it said to set Sims quality to Very High in the settings, but I already have that set. ALSO! My graphic card (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti) is up to date, so I don't think that's the issue. But who knows? 🤷🏾♀️

I was in CAS just a moment ago and as I was changing my sim’s nails a glitch happened where my sims just started to glow as if I had added on that shine accessory but when I removed the nails the shine also went away. Then I went to change her eyes and it happened again but this time it wouldn’t go away and the more I would fidget with it the worse it became. I thought it was just a CAS thing until I loaded into the game… the shine doesn’t go away. It looks weird and pixelated ahh What’s wrong ?!
I had this problem today and came here to find what was causing the issue. Glad to see that the cause is known as, once I changed her nails, the issue was fixed.
