Sim can't walk through door

My Sims will do this with a specific bathroom door, but the game otherwise runs like normal. I just finished building a palace for my noble Sims today, but the bathroom on the third level by the bedroom this keeps happening in, making the bathroom unusable and I have to micromanage which toilet my Sims can use, which is not fun. My Sims walk into the bathroom and use the toilet or shower, then suddenly they can't leave. They wave their hand above their head with the footsteps and the x icon like they do when they can't get there. Even comanding them to "go here" right outside the door will trigger this response from them. I have to go into build/buy, pick up the door and place it back in the exact same spot for the Sims to be able to leave. This will work until a Sim goes into that bathroom again. I noticed while I was building the palace that door kept going through the wall, where I could see the wall inside the doorframe, and would have to pick it up to make it go back to normal. It was always the same doors and windows doing this. The bathroom door is the only essential one it was happening to. I'm not sure if that is linked. I didn't use move objects in the bathroom or anywhere near it. I did use the F5 button for more placement options, but the door is centered and will place without that activated. I don't understand why my Sims can enter the bathroom, but not leave it.
