I've been having this issue since the ancient times, I think it got added with Get to Work (yikes), because I recall my sim suddenly becoming 'lovelorn' constantly without having the Romantic trait. The most common tense buffs I get besides the romantic one are from Genius (unchallenged) and Creative (uncreative). The sad buff from Maker(idle hands) happens constantly too, but there are many others. Sims also get the scared moodlet from fear of water without fearing water, that might be the same issue or not, as fears are temporary traits. This bug happens 100% if my sim has one of the traits and I remove it in CAS, but occasionally even when they never had it. I've become numb to this bug over the years, but if it could be fixed, then wow.
