Sim keeps putting infant down before putting them in crib et al.

A quick search on the bar said this was unique.

every time I queue up my parent sim to take care of her infant, she puts the baby down to sit down between each step, even going from the changing table by the crib to the crib has to be held up for the sim to go for a sit down. Tasks already take so long, but it took her all day to feed, change a diaper, and give a bath, interrupted as well by other sims. That cry is frustrating enough without the parent sims taking extra time like it!

The same issue is present for Sims. It has it's own thread here: Routing/Sit down issue on several interactions | EA Forums - 12348200

My sims will autonomously go to put thier infant on the play mat and i want them to do something else, so i click cancel interaction and i even cancel them waking to the play mat, but they do not stop until they have put the infant down.

Yes, this has also been happening with my sims. i get them to feed the infant in a highchair and they sit down before going to do it and often cancel the interaction adn when they will do it, it takes a long time.

I get this too and have to reset the infant sim and the parent/person trying to put them to bed/down

  • Every time i select feeding/change diaper/or any other interaction my sims will put them down on the floor and even cancel the queue. even if i cancel them putting them on the floor it still continues. negatively impacting gameplay. (no mods or cc)

Just adding that this happens to me as well! My infants can't sleep through the night or get their needs met if I let my adult Sims operate autonomously (which I strongly prefer while playing). They just keep picking the infant up and putting them down over and over, and I personally find that while it happens more with the crib it happens anywhere, anytime. I have to use the 'reset object' cheat on my adult sims pretty much constantly to avoid it and I turned on testingcheats in the first place to be able to refill my children's needs so they don't get taken away in the instance that I'm not able to get my adult sims to function properly.

  • One of the most annoying bugs ever! It's especially bad when a babysitter is present. The babysitter then also wants to feed the baby or put it to bed and also puts it back down or stops the action. My Sim then wants to carry out their action and it starts all over again. It's like an endless loop. Without cheats, my baby would have been picked up by social services countless times. Babies are unplayable for me without cheats. It's been like that for at least a year.

  • An infant with or without full needs will sometimes get it in their head that they do NOT want to be in the crib for any reason. They constantly summon a caretaker to take them out in order to look at something and I cannot stop it. I cancel the interaction on the adult to "put X down" and even if I turn autonomy completely OFF, it will still happen. The adult will not get 2 steps before the interaction comes back no matter how many times I repeatedly cancel it. The only solution is to lock the door or remove the door in build mode.

Some interactions have a "put down" interaction at the end of them. One of these is the "Help with needs" and "Super efficient infant care". If I do one of those interactions and queue up something else after it that requires the infant to be held, the adult will put the infant down directly after the "Help with needs" or "Super efficient infant care". They then need to pick the infant back up in order to do the next action. This is annoying if the crib or infant mat is not close by when you do the first action or if there is no crib on the lot. If the crib is not close by, the adult must walk them to the crib between the interactions. If there is no crib on the lot and there is a second adult in the household, the one tending to the infant will call over the other which completely wipes the second adult's queue and make them take the baby. Then sometimes get a routing error for the other queued up infant action since they no longer have the baby.
