Since downloading the latest update, my sims can only order books that they already own. This is true whether I go through their bookcases or their computer.
I'm playing on Mac, if that makes a difference! I have some expansion packs but no mods or cc.
I did not see this issue addressed in any of the currently active bug reports, but apologies if I've missed something!
So I've been seeing this bug for a week now in my saves which all contain different families. Once opening any platform that allows you to buy books, not only do some category books disappear but specifically skill books as well. If you previously owned skill books (which was the case for me in one save), only the ones that you own will show up for purchase. Upon further investigating, it seems that's the case for the other books that appear for sale too. When this happened for me I was using one main menu mod but since then I have removed it (as i first believed it was causing the issue), and a multiplayer mod as well which was also removed. Also tried the Clean User File Approach and that didn't help either. At the time my game version was 1.124.55.1030.
I tried using the S4MP mod today for mult.player and when we joined in that save suddenly all the books were back and available for purchase including skill books (so i bought them all). When trying the mult.player we noticed I had a different game version: 1.124.63.1020. Later in the day i decide to play my personal save (Family 1) only to realize that the books are still missing in that save; duplicated the save and checked that way and still no books. Checked the mult.player save (Family 2) and the only skill books that show for purchase are all the Lv. 1's even though I had bought all the levels of all skill books.
Also the Library only contains Lv. 1 books so its hard to get around this bug without always directing the sim to do the task(s) related to that skill.
(Edit: After writing this out, I went back to get videos of the purchase menus and i suppose after having gone to the library, my house's bookshelf now had all Lv. 1 books available for purchase, regardless of wether I previously owned them or not.)
I forgot to add that I can no longer craft any of the lower skill level nectars either for some reason even when i have the ingredients in my inventory. I can make only berry or fruit nectar
I cannot buy any new books from either the computer or bookshelves. I have never used any mods. It has only started happening since the last update.
I also cannot upgrade my rock climbing skill at all, it says all walls require a higher skill level but have no way of raising my skill level. I also cant cheat the skill level for some reason.
There was someone else reporting that they could only buy books they already owned

I also have the exact same problem, only the books I had prior to this bug show up underneath the skill tab and if I didn't have any then none would show at all. I have troubleshot it by removing mods, checking every save, checking it in a new save (although then the option to buy didn't appear at all) and even the Clean User Folder Approach, but nothing! There was one point, when checking to see if it was mods, that they showed up again but it didn't stay like that. Lastly, I tried uninstalling it on steam and reinstalling it in the EA launcher but that didn't solve anything either. Is this just a new bug??
None of that worked I thought I had fixed it after I reinstalled secret sanctuary but the bug came back

Yes it happens on a new save as well the others may be part of packs
You seem to be missing some other categories too although I'm unsure if certain ones are from packs
Do you have the same issue on a new save ?
