Sims can't be directed to do Sit ups/Push ups/Stretching

When directing my sims to do actions such as sit-ups, push ups, or stretching they can only do it once, even when trying 10+ times. When trying to make the sim do it more than once, it enters the action que and then fades away as if the action is canceled. Neither sim has the "Active" trait as they are new sims. I am assuming this has something do with the "Sims Autonomy Improvements" part of the newest update but it seems to have limited the option to perform the action more than once entirely even when wanted. As tagged I don't play with any CC or mods, I'm PC, and this is in a new save. This happened across both sims in this save.

Doesn't work at all on any Sim under any circumstances

  • I also have this bug - active sim who is energized and where the actions just fade away, he just takes a step and then just nothing. I thought it was a mod at first, but no dice.

I am experiencing the exact same issue after the v1.122 (March 2026) update. This is a critical logic bug in a 100% Vanilla game (NO Mods/CC).

My specific observations and test results:

The "One-and-Done" Glitch: In a brand-new save file, the very first time I direct a Sim to perform a ground exercise (Push-up, Sit-up, or Stretch), it works perfectly. However, every single attempt after that first success fails immediately.

The Sim walks to the spot, starts the animation for a split second, and the action is instantly canceled/dropped from the queue.

Active Trait Does Not Help: I specifically tested this with a Sim who has the "Active" trait. Despite having the ideal trait and being in an "Energized" mood, the bug still occurs after the first successful session.

The game seems to ignore the Sim's eligibility and forces a cancelation.

Time Intervals are Irrelevant: I tested different wait times between the first and second exercise commands—ranging from a few seconds to several in-game hours and even days. The result is always the same: Failure.

Location/Lot Independent: This happens on any lot type (Residential, Gym, Park) and any surface (indoor, outdoor, flat ground, no platforms).

Comprehensive Troubleshooting Done: I have already cleared localthumbcache.package, repaired the game via the EA App, and tested on multiple new saves.

It appears the "Cooldown" or "State Tag" introduced in the latest patch is failing to reset properly. Even though the Sim has finished the animation, the game's internal logic still flags them as "Busy" or "Ineligible," causing all subsequent manual commands to be auto-canceled.

Please investigate the Reset Trigger for fitness interactions in the 1.122 script!

Hey there! The exact issue is specifically without the active trait, that's why I specified in the original post :) Wanting your sims to do something vs them doing it autonomously shouldn't block you from doing what you want, no matter the traits.

  • I had posted about this on Blue but this morning I tested with a fresh game - removed all mods, saves, and tray. Cleared cache. Started up SIMS made a brand new blank SIM with the active trait. He was able to do the exercises as often as I wanted (stretch, sit-up, push-up). Those options only showed for a SIM with an active trait (at least as a new SIM). I traveled 3 times to various places and he was able to do the interactions.

This doesn't mean there isn't a bug of course - it could happen from later game play or some other issue. But I was unable to duplicate it once I removed all mods myself and started with a fresh new SIM that wasn't associated with any past mods or any past saves.

  • I decided to test this in my game (no mods) as I saw a Bluesky friend post about it. The same happened to me. I even shift clicked to reset my sim and try again but I couldn't get him to perform any of the activities.
