sims family tree and relationships keep changing

I play with a legacy family that I've had since the business and hobbies pack release, recently, probably since the most recent patch, I've noticed that relationships on the family tree will change periodically. For example, with my most recent generation, sims that were married turned into half-siblings, the wife somehow became the daughter of her father-in-law. one of my sims biological kids is now his nephew, and somehow one of the senior pollination aliens is the daughter of one of my sims, then the same senior pollination alien abducted one of my sims, who would be her brother if the tree was correct and was acting normally (and if the alien had been there through normal not broken gameplay), the alien babies father (as said on the tree) is not the one who got pregnant. there's more instances of this but they're too confusing to write down. I don't quite understand how it's became so intertwined and incorrect, there's not even mods at play to blame, this predicament was played out on a ps5.
