This is a huge problem in my game for a while now. It comes and goes as far as severity and it is not limited to households with children either. Sometimes it's really really really bad and most times it is varied between bad and the worst. It is like sims have lost their ability to focus. Honestly I don't feel it is really them deciding not to do stuff, I think the game is dropping the queued commands for some reason. Many times I will have tell a sim to do something and it does not register to the queue. I'll have to tell them as many as three times before I finally see the command go into queue. When there are kids in the house, the "check infant" is going off way too often and every time it does they will stop everything else and many times anything i have told them to do will drop out of the queue. However this still happens like crazy in a household without kids. I could't even get a sim to complete a mindful walk "want" because she would stop and play the violin, or chat with the first person she sees even though her social bar was full. Never did get the want completed.
