Sims leave job/school after another sim travels

I just discovered this in my game. A teen and a child Sim went to school then I followed my scientist to work. When he arrived, the teen got a phonecall popup saying the principal was calling and then I got text notifications saying that school was done for the day and that they had both gone home.

This has been happening to me as well. The responsibility keeps dropping out of range for the trait. It's simple to bring back up, as all I have to do is have them do their homework after 3pm, but not sure why it's happening at all. I don't know if travel brings someone home from work, I haven't traveled when one Sim is at work. I hope this changes once the kids get to high school. I really don't want to find out if that is a problem for me as well. It would be too easy for a Sim to get fired. 

Same here! I swear it’s always something with this game. Mine started after the update. Even my Zerbu Go To School mod broke ;(. I hope this gets fixed soon, hopefully with the new expansion pack coming out. 

• Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do
•  I do use mods but have disabled them to test this and its not mod related
• At which point does your game crash to the desktop ?
•  It doesnt crash, it sends everyone home from work/school when i travel to a different lot with another sim in the household
• Are you playing any active work days/high school ?
•  I dont actively go to work with my sims and i do not have HSY so i dont go to high school with them either
• Does it affect all age groups ?
•  Yes
• Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?
•  No

Basically summary every sim that is in a "rabbithole" like work/school, and when i travel using a different sim that isnt doing anything to a different lot it sends every sim doing something like work/school back home lowering perfomance and limiting the income, it has been happening to me since the update before the newest patch.

It is also not save specific.

I’ve been having the same issue! My main sim will go to her actor career while her children are in school. “Joining” her at work effectively sends the kids home from school at 10 a.m. No mods or CC. :( 

Whilst im playing with my current household I will travel with one of my sims but this causes my other sim/sims to leave work early

Having the same issue, started with the beginning of the event. Basically renders GTW and HSY unplayable.

Playing on Steam Deck, no mods or CC.

This just started for me; I have all expansion packs (not new to me). Some searching shows this issue happened a lot several years ago, but no solutions posted seem to work for me. It’s extremely irritating. I wonder if the latest update threw something off-kilter.

I'm hesitant to vote, because it's labeled as a GTW thing. I own GTW, but my sims who have experienced this don't have GTW careers, nor do they have household members who do. I sent my sim in the Trendsetter career to work, but when her daughter traveled for an aspiration objective, I got a notification that the mother had returned home, several hours early. This happened after the recent patch, and I've been avoiding leaving home when someone's at work since then.

Another time [not sure if this is related], my Sim in the Tech Guru career was away at a Night Club when her work schedule started. She went to work and, being the only active character on the lot, the game sent me back to her home lot. That part's normal. After I returned to her home lot, the game pulled her out of work early. This was before the recent patch. I want to say it was a week ago, maybe two.
