Sims unable to wash dishes/use garbage cans/drag dishes to sink/garbage cans

With the recent update, Sims stopped using the sink to wash dishes (they pick up dishes, and place it down on surfaces like counters near the sink to go into other rooms, to place them on tables and the mantle of fireplaces). Trying to drag the dishes to the sink or garbage cans does not work, even in Build/Buy.

There was a time when having a window over the sink stopped Sims from using the sink, so I moved the sink to another counter to test if that bug returned, but the Sim still wouldn't use the moved sink.

Normally, if the kitchen sink is somehow bugged, the Sims would take the dishes to another sink, like in a washroom/bathroom, but either they don't go into those rooms and place it somewhere around that room or they place the dishes on the top of toilets or sink.

No mods, only cc I have downloaded two or three made by Maxis (but I haven't used/placed them down in the save games I still have) .
