Skill going up way too fast

Hello,

Sorry for the lack of tags but not exactly sure what to take this as.  I did check and used search to see if this was mentioned and I didn't see it but skill gain is faster than the rocket ships now in game. After EbN came out, I did not re-enable my mod, I played the game vanilla for a while, worked through the new packs career, just chill play. In the first day, I almost maxed out the Natural living skill. Thought it was only that skill, but within an in game month, normal life span, my sim managed to max out a good perhaps twenty skills.

Unmodded

And most of those skill didn't take a full game day to finish. So I was glad when I finally re-enabled my mods because I figured I could use MCCC to slow down skill gain, it's at -50, so 5X slower.  Today, new game, modded game, with the -5X setting: My sim already has gardening 9. He collected maybe 20 plants and planted 15....

Game starts 8AM Sunday, it's 3:20 A Monday  and my sim Maxed out Mischief and Cooking, Gardening 9, Painting, 7, Gemology/Comedy/Charisma 6;; Natural living/Handiness 4. Let me say that I have not foraged once in this save game nor bathed nor slept rough.

Maybe a decimal got moved somewhere?

Hi! Could you please tell me, if I play with mods, can I still send the save file? I removed all the mods, cleared the cache, even repaired the game, but the problem with the fast skill gain remains. My kid played on the tablet and in 40 Sim-minutes leveled up one video gaming skill, even though in MCCC I have the skill gain speed set to -50 (the maximum slowdown).

KsankaSims if you tested without, yes.

I don't know when I have time for it and it's already under investigation with EA so hopefully they find out what the issue is.

  • Okay, something new. Don't know if it will help but MCCC came out with a new update. Remember, both with and without mods, the skills were going light speed but I was testing out a new idea, so I started a new save. This time, my sims skill did not go up at all. I was confused until I remembered that I had set MCCC skill difficulty to -50 which makes it so slow. After three hours of reading a book, they hadn't even gotten 1% of the skill.

So I went to MCCC and changed it to -10. In one and a half game hours it's gone up 4%. Like I said, don't know if it helps but yesterday -50 skill difficulty did not stop it from going nuts, today it works to slow the skill gain. Like I said, I don't know if it will help but since it is something different, I thought you should know.

I saw some older posts about this but there was no solution provided.

My sim's skills go up immediately. She starts rock climbing, the next second it's already level 2, then few seconds later level 3, etc. Same for all other skills too. It takes 2 real-life seconds for her skills to level up.

She has no base traits that should do this (competitive, goofball, socially awkard, adventurous, perfectionist), she has a lot of reward traits but only the same ones as she had before, and this issue has not occured before. With the only exception being Wordly Knowledge from the Mount Komorebi sightseer aspiration, but that shouldn't have such an effect. She has a couple childhood reward traits that can boost skills but she always had them and the skills always levelled up at a normal pace.

So, she has only the same traits as when there was no such issue (except for that one above), and nothing should result in the skills shooting up a level in a couple seconds.

No lot traits either, and no mastery perks that should do this (she has the one that helps others build physical skills faster when activated, but that shouldn't result in this for her own self and is not even activated).

She wasn't in a focused/inspired etc. mood. It wasn't "new skill day".

So it really doesn't seem to be a boost (and even a boost shouldn't result in immediate leveling), but a bug.

Never used any mods or CC at all.

    Playing on PC.

    Thank you!
