A note for people trying to test work-arounds: If you hover over the 'Have child complete aspiration' objective, it explains that only Child-level aspirations (Rambunctious Scamp, etc.) count. So, make sure that you're testing on a child aspiration.
Just wanted to let you know I've tested all three aspiration types (child, teen, and adult) at all three life stages (child, teen, and adult) and none worked. I've also tested both part-time jobs and full 10-level careers, and neither worked. Several other people in this thread have mentioned testing child and adult aspirations and neither worked, so it's definitely still a bug and not user error.
