Time/Sim freezes while environment still moves - May/ July 2025

moved this to the mods forum for help with mods. Bug forum is only for issues tested on a vanilla game.

These NateTheL0ser mods are listed in  Previously Broken mods and CC  : 

• Children Attend Skill Classes
• Coming Out – unsupported

They also have a full list of their mods on their Patreon, so you can figure out which mods are theirs and delete them. None have been confirmed working for quite a while now.

You can remove mods from your Mods folder manually no matter how you installed them. Test the game without saving it to avoid permanent impact on your game save. See vanilla and 50-50 testing

I removed the mods from natethel0ser, but the error still occurs and in the report it shows me that it's his fault, but I don't see it in the files, as if it disappeared

Is your version of Better Exceptions current? And when you look at the list of mods on launch of the game, do any of the mods you removed still show? 

Yeah, my Better Exceptions is up to date (v3.13), and I also deleted the localthumbcache multiple times. I double-checked in the launch report, and mods from NateTheL0ser no longer show up there — yet BE still links the error to them.

It feels like something from that mod got left behind in the save or in traits/buffs, even after deleting the file.

Is there any way to fully remove leftover data from deleted mods that might still be embedded in Sim data?

I don't have any of the mods referenced but am having this same issue...for several days now and have removed every "errored" mod I could find from the last exceptions and still it occurs. I know people say to remove all mods and to do the 50/50 method...which yes I will do but it's gonna be difficult to re-create the freezing issue? It's very random and unexplained...so not sure how I'll know what mod or mod(s) are causing it
