There is currently an issue in MCCC that is causing a freezing like this if you have auto-marriages turned on.

I confirmed it’s NOT the decorating career because another Sim in the same household could do it no problem. My new theory is that one specific Sim is just broken and I have to delete him. I’ve spent 7 months playing him as the main character… I really don’t want to lose all that. Please Sims!!! Fix this!!!!!
