I tried getting my Sim to feed my toddler sims and they just won't eat!

Since the most recent update for the sims 4, i noticed that my sim children refuse to eat food, they will just carry the food around or set it down and do something else, even if i have a teen or adult sim make a fresh meal, they won't eat it even when they are almost starving. i have two save files that i don't play with mods and i noticed that the kids just wouldn't eat anything. it doesn't affect any of the other ages, just children in my played houses. i have to cheat their needs sometimes just to make sure that the kids don't die. its not in just one house either, in one of my save files i had my sims go on vacation and i had to end it early because the sim children wouldn't eat anything made for them.
i have noticed this in my save file were i use mods as well and its a brand new save.
