I tried getting my Sim to feed my toddler sims and they just won't eat!

My toddler has the picky eater quirk, but simply refuses to eat under any circumstances. He will not eat in the high chair, he will not eat a meal on the ground, he just will not eat even when he was so hungry that he was 7 hours away from being taken away. He has the little food icon but never pulls out the food to eat it or never does the eating animation to his food and he just sits there. I even tried to click on the hunger need for him to autonomously fill it but he just will not eat. My other toddler without the picky eater trait will eat. I am on PC and my game and computer is fully updated.
