The Solarium Doors from the Teatime Solarium Kit do not let sunlight pass through the glass. Here's a comparison between one of the windows from the same kit:

I noticed this with the glass doors from B&H, the medium industrial looking ones, had to make a hole in the roof for the sunlight to shine through.
edit: The proper shadows showed before adding a ceiling/roof, but as soon as room had ceiling the shadows and sunlight went away, making a hole in the roof solved it.
