Ideas
After traveling, entering or exiting Build Mode, or using a Scenario, the Live Mode UI (build/buy/live buttons, scenario guide, needs panel, etc.) disappears completely. I can’t interact with Sims or the world, and I have to restart the game to fix it.
This happens even without mods or CC, and I’ve seen other reports from players using 100% vanilla installs. It happens more often when a Scenario is active but can also occur in regular saves.
Steps to reproduce (in my case): Start a Scenario or load a regular save. Travel to another lot or enter Build Mode. Return to Live Mode. UI is missing and game is unplayable until restarted.
What I’ve tried: Tested without mods/CC (clean install), Recreated in new saves
Happens more often with Scenarios but not exclusive to them
Temporary workaround:
Restarting the game restores UI, but it happens again after repeating the above steps.

I have been having this same exact issue. Haven't played the sims in years and installed on my new computer, I thought it was an issue with installing into OneDrive folder but after fixing that I am still having the same problem on a fresh vanilla install. UI has disappeared for me after travelling to lots and after exiting build/buy mode and the only that fixes it is shutting the game down completely and restarting. I tried saving and going to main menu but that wouldn't load so the only thing to do was shut down completely. Really frustrating since this is a fresh install on a new computer with no mods. I was also using scenarios to get back into the game and try different things with set goals, so I guess I'll try without and see if that helps.

I also considered OneDrive, but after getting rid of all mods, reinstalling, fresh save, no scenario, no issue.
