Unable to load into a specific household:

Hello! This had all started following the recent update. I had played for a while just after updating my game, and it had been working fine. I saved and quit, then went back to playing later on, and then began having issues. It would go like this:

-The game will start up just fine; no issues
-I'd go into "load game" and select the recently played save file (the one that I'm having issues with)
-It would load into the household selection screen just fine, and I was able to select the household in question with no issue.

After selecting is when I would start to have issues. The game would either get caught in the loading screen and just sit there for ages without actually entering the game (I would have to use Task Manager to close the game,) or it would stutter on the loading screen for a couple of seconds before crashing. I'm only having issues with this one household as well. I've been able to load some of my other save files just fine, and I've even been able to load into the problem save file via other households in that world- it's only when I attempt to load into this certain household that I have these issues.

I'm at a loss for what to do and could really use some help. I've already tried validating the files on steam, I've gone in to the game with a fresh documents folder as some others have suggested here, but nothing seems to be working.

Note: My game is vanilla; I've never played with mods or CC and have never downloaded them onto the computer I'm using.

  • Hi Andromeshark

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

    - Delete the ones you have
    - Trigger the error again
    - Check if new ones are created
    - If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting.

Hi! I do have a few of those, as well as some LastUIException files. Should I delete those ones as well, or just the LastException ones?

    Hi Andromeshark

Delete all LastUIExceptions, LastCrash and LastExceptions although in this case LastExceptions is probably the most important in your case.

These are all log files so you don't really need the old ones and to be sure the LE is actually related to your issue, it's best to create a fresh one.
