[W] Unable to unlock Wolf-B-Gone recipe

it does seem to be random if you unlock it or not. Did you find the book regularly or download through gallery/buydebug ?

According to this thread: Moonpetal Punch & Wolf-B-Gone | EA Forums - 931003 you can also try some other books that should unlock it.

I dug up a book from the ground. I know it's random, but I can't unlock it even after 100 tries, which makes me wonder if it's a bug. The same goes for other recipes; I can't unlock them even if I read the corresponding book. If this continues, I won't be able to fulfill my wish and I'm in trouble.

Yeah, one would think you should be able to unlock it with that many tries.

I've made  progress, so I wanted to let you know.
I ended up not being able to unlock the recipe using the book, so I gave up and left this household alone. I recently picked up the household for the first time in a while, and by chance I clicked on the bar and the "Wolf-B-Gone" recipe unlocked. It wasn't unlocked right before I stopped playing, so I'm not sure how this solved the problem.
Anyway, I'm happy to report that the problem is solved.
