[W] Unable to unlock Wolf-B-Gone recipe

it does seem to be random if you unlock it or not. Did you find the book regularly or download through gallery/buydebug ?

According to this thread: Moonpetal Punch & Wolf-B-Gone | EA Forums - 931003 you can also try some other books that should unlock it.

I dug up a book from the ground. I know it's random, but I can't unlock it even after 100 tries, which makes me wonder if it's a bug. The same goes for other recipes; I can't unlock them even if I read the corresponding book. If this continues, I won't be able to fulfill my wish and I'm in trouble.

Yeah, one would think you should be able to unlock it with that many tries.
