For years I’ve noticed that my sim could write half a book and stop, but when I have them resume the same book it starts from the start. They can only write a book in one sitting with no breaks.

When my sims are making music it’s saved in the inventory. But when I click on continue making a song on the notes it starts all over again. This makes it almost impossible to make music because it takes such a long time.

when my sim is writing a book and leaves half way through because of work or an even the progress resets to the beginning and now my sims will only sit for a few seconds and get up
This bug has been in my game since the release of Growing Together in 2023. Mods or no mods, uninstalling then reinstalling, nothing has changed in years for me. All progress on books and music are lost after a loading screen from CAS and/or traveling outside the home!. My Sims only write short stories and children's books, so they can be easily finished in one sitting. Sometimes I'll use mods to turn them into Homebody Sims that don't like leaving their house and avoid opening CAS until their book is done (if I can remember😭). As for music, none of my Sims have written a finished song in years!
The game does not remember the progress in writing a book when the lot is loaded and when the game is saved and loaded again. The same occurs with the progress of most interactions in computer programming that require a progress time to be completed.
This happens to me too, with specifically writing books and music. If the sim goes to work or leaves the lot it starts from the beginning again. It's extremely annoying to write songs because of this.
It looks like knitting now has the resumes at the beginning after quitting bug.

This is a copy of my regular game with Mods and CC removed.
I am having this issue with song writing. There is no option to continue song, but writing one takes so many hours the sim autonomously stops so they can take care of their needs rather than dying (which also would be an unwanted outcome). I don't have any mods installed.
And after all that effort I can even get credit on the Musical aspiration.
