[XB/PS] Blurry household items

After about an hour or so of game play household items suddenly become blurry looking. I have to restart my game to fix it. It takes about 15-20 minutes for me to load back into my game and then this happens again about an hour later.

Note from EA_Solaire:

Hi all,

If you're playing on PlayStation could you please share your save file (instructions here: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/information-how-to-send-user-files-to-the-sims-4-team/5048472 ) to help us investigate into this further?

For Xbox players, there's currently not a way for you to share your saves with us, but please continue to report any issues you experience in this thread.

Thank you!

Every time I switch to build mode or move around, the image quality gets worse and worse, which takes half the fun out of it. I write a Sims 4 gameplay diary, so it's really sad to see my screenshots look like this. Is there a way to prevent this degradation? I'm on PS5.

  • I have also just started having this issue with the Royalty and Legacy pack. I did the pre-order and ever since downloading it will randomly degrade the quality of my wall and floor textures. The only fix is to restart the game. It used to be that if that ever happened (rarely, and usually right before an update), I would just save and it would "adjust graphics" and then be fine again. It has not done the graphics adjustment since the recent update and I have had to close and reopen my game about 6 times since noon yesterday due to this.

For those of us who are experiencing frequent crashing on console, this graphics issue is making it so much worse. The graphics degradation does absolutely nothing to improve the game in any way, and it's always made everything worse and more frustrating, and now it's causing crashing as well. It was foisted on us without it being necessary, and it needs to stop.

  • About a hour or less of game play a loading screen will pop up and say (" we're adjusting your graphics settings, so you can continue to enjoy playing the sims 4' )then game will get really blurry, its been happening for months now.

Hello, I'm having the exact same problem on my PS5 since the last update and installing the Royalty Pack. When I launch the game, the textures are perfect. But as soon as I move from one lot to another, the textures are blurry on all lots. It looks awful and ruins the fun of playing. I can't find how to access the Sims graphics settings to check the "uncompressed textures" box. How can I access it, please? It's not explained anywhere.

  • I am having this same issue with graphics and it has become increasingly worse since the most recent update in February. Not even 10 minutes of game play and graphics are incredibly blurry. Worst I have ever experienced. I have tried all usual suggestions of reducing household size, lot size and amount of objects on lot, removing all inventory objects, having one generation only, removing lots throughout the worlds, starting a new save, etc. NOTHING IS HELPING. It is extremely frustrating considering the amount of time and money I have sunk into this game.

When will this problem be fixed? Look at the image. It's truly awful. This is what the graphics look like after only two movements and returning? Even the SpongeBob collaboration looks like this. Isn't this disrespectful to the collaborators?
Why did you arbitrarily adjust the graphics? Stop it immediately. It ruins the gameplay.

I’m a PC player, and in my environment I’m able to adjust the in-game graphics settings to match my system.
When I used to play on a laptop, being able to fine-tune those settings really helped.

However, I’ve heard directly from console players that the console version does not offer the same level of detailed graphics settings.

I also truly enjoy seeing screenshots from console players.

That’s why I sincerely hope this issue will be given a higher priority for a fix.

At the same time, I can’t help but wonder whether sufficient debugging and testing are being carried out in real gameplay environments across each platform—PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox.

I believe that compatibility with a high-spec console like the PS5 should always be maintained at the highest standard.
I strongly hope this issue can be resolved as quickly as possible.

It’s frustrating to feel like there’s nothing I can do.🥲
