I'm trying to continue with this weeks quest for the event, but I need to collect the outhouse in the rewards to be able to craft it. However when I go to collect the latest rewards it says I'm not connected.
I had been having problems with the game connecting for the Sims deliveries, but after the most recent update that's now fixed. I've also checked my PlayStation 5 and it's connected to the Internet, so the game should be too.
There's no error error code or anything it just says must be connected to claim rewards or something along those lines. I don't know what to do other than restart the game for the fifth time and hope this time it magically works.

Me too. My gallery is not showing for online content, so I think it's the update. There's no online access. Before the update I couldn't claim my latest rewards after finally getting this event to work properly for me. I updated, and i still can't claim.
I’m on PS5 me too, and I’ve even re-installed the game which was a pain. I also rebuilt my database, which helps lag issues, but it didn’t fix this issue. I reset my router, and I have great fiber internet so I’m pretty positive it’s not a real internet connection issue.
I will add that as a console player if you don’t have internet the game doesn’t even work normally because if it’s a digital copy the license servers require internet to verify you won the license to the game. It has to periodically verify this during gameplay. So if I wasn’t connected, it wouldn’t even let me play (which is wild considering it’s a single player game but that’s another issue entirely). So in conclusion my internet is fine, but the game is broken for the millionth time.

You have to link account to ea go to settings then other then click link ea account then restart your game

I had to go to game options and look for link EA account. When I linked my EA account, it fixed the issue. Please try that everyone.

I am on PS4 and am having the same issue for the 3rd day in a row after trying to claim the outhouse as well. My game is up-to-date with updates. I also have noticed that the library is only showing my items and isn't the full catalog. Regardless of what the screen says, I am definitely online. I have checked my ps settings multiple times. Tried testarts several times. It is frustrating!
