game simply not loading?
hi! today i downloaded some new cc, and now the sims 4 just wont open. there's no error code, the game doesn't even appear in task manager, the EA app just pops back up again with the 'launching game' screen, but the game never actually loads. i've filed through all of my mods and none of them appear to be busted or broken unless i've missed something, i've tried simply repairing the sims 4 app, restarting my pc, i've even gone through to the EA file on my laptop and tried updating the app from there, but nothing i've tried has seemed to have worked. any help would be great <3! if its any help, i have all of the expansion packs except for 'for rent', 'businesses & hobbies', 'enchanted by nature', and 'adventure awaits'. i also have the werewolves, vampire, realm of magic and parenthood game packs and the paranormal stuff pack.
Missing link in family tree
I have a problem with two Sims. They are related (mother and daugther) but they do not appear on each other family tree. All the other relationships, including the one between the mom and her son, are shown on my Sims family trees, so, I do not understand why this specific link is missing. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Note that I am playing with some CCs, and the MCCC but I doubt this is the cause of my issue.
The mods folder or resource.cfg folder won’t regenerate upon reinstall/relaunch
I’m not sure what happened but my resource.cfg file just disappeared one day and I haven’t been able to relocate it what so ever, I have reinstalled the game multiple times and it still doesn’t reappear along with the mods folder, I’m sure you can manually put in a mods folder and a resource.cfg will regenerate inside it upon launching the game but that hasn’t worked out for me either; I have tried to follow tutorials and all to help me and even looked on here and I either can’t figure it out/find it or don’t understand. Could someone help me?
Simology panel always glowing
In my Legacy save the Simology panel is always glowing. It is only in that single save. All others are normal and goes away when I have checked them. The issus with this save is that when I check the panel it goes away. But if I switch to another sim and then back again it is glowing again. I do play with mods but it happens even without mods. And as mentioned, only in this household. It is really making me question wether or not to continue with this legacy or not. I have tried clearing cache and repaired the game. I have the latest update (sep 18 2025) but it is still there. Any advice would be greatly appriciated!
Build Mode freezes frequently
For the last six months or so, I have not been able to play in build mode for long periods of time without my game freezing. It also varies. I can play for hours, then it'll freeze. I can play for 20 minutes and it will freeze, and the cycle will rinse and repeat several times until I give up and do something else. I don't know why each session is different, but there was one day I played the sims four about 3 hours and my build mode froze six times. This can be extremely frustrating because my game will literally sit frozen until I sign out of Windows, or completely restarted my computer (record is about 45 minutes of my game sitting frozen until I did something). I have no idea if this is a game issue or a PC issue, but I was wondering if there were troubleshooting options that my technologically impaired self could try to see if this issue can be resolved. I do have mods installed, but the freezing issue does still occur whether or not the mods were installed. That was the first thing I checked. Also, these issues began after a base game update a while ago. I cannot remember which one, but I distinctly remember my game operating fine until a base game update, and then all of a sudden my game will freeze while being in build mode and losing progress if I don't save every 60 seconds. Any ideas or suggestions?? Thank you!!!
get_plex_tile_count LE/Residential lots revert to communtiy lot
Last Exception Error - Lot Type Issues I'm experiencing a Last Exception error related to the get_plex_tile_count function in build_buy.py (line 838). The error message states that this function returned "NULL" without setting an error. What’s happening in my game? Some residential lots randomly change into community lots without me doing anything. When this happens, a household wrongly becomes the owner of a business they shouldn't own. Even if I manually sell the business and change the lot back to residential, most of the time the issue reverts it back. However I have found a workaround on another thread but I'd like to have an official patch that fixes it obviously. What I’ve tried so far: Changing the affected lot to Generic, saving, then switching it back to Residential. Checking the map for any rental units (I don’t have any in my world). I've removed the mods and custom content. And also have plenty of backups of the save file in question. I don't have any rental units in my game or had downloaded it (if so, all of them were set as residentials once I placed them from the gallery) I've also cleared all my cache files I'm still in the process of updating all my mods and deleting the outdated ones. This new Last Exception error message suggests a problem with rental units that have no tiles, but as I have said before, I don’t have any rental lots placed. However, my game seems to think there is one and I don't know how to get rid of this issue! Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a fix? Or knows what is happening with this second bug? my game has not been working for a while and i turned off mods and it worked totally fine. i assumed it was a faulty mod so i tested all of them and none of them seemed to be the problem, the game was still not working. then i ran the game with mods on but took all of them out of the folder, and the game worked again. so i'm really frustrated and confused if this is a problem with my mods folder in general? how do i fix this?
Acne? on infant and toddlers
I play with mods and cc. My sim had a child and I noticed when she turned infant she had these marks that look like acne? I thought maybe it would disappear when she aged up or maybe it was part of an update but she still has the exact same marks as a toddler. Ive checked to see if its the same for every life stage but it disappears at child, so its only for infant and toddler. Anyone know what this is or have any fixes? Its not something in cas as i removed everything.
