I've missed you all!
Hi Simmers, I just thought I'd share something personal. Two years ago, I was in a coma and woke up completely paralyzed. During that time, I missed The Sims — and this community — more than I can express. I had to stop reading the forums after a few months because it was just too hard. The Sims community has always been such a big source of comfort and a creative outlet for me. Yesterday, for the first time in over two years, I was finally able to play The Sims 4 again. I actually cried during the loading screen. Like full on runny nose, headache inducing crying. LOL It was like coming home, or getting a tiny part of the old me back. My birthday is coming up next week, and I’m so incredibly happy to not have to miss out on my favorite birthday tradition again this year. I'm gonna grab a slice a cake and burn some poor sims house down LOL I’ve really missed being part of this community. I probably won’t post much since typing is still difficult and painful, but I’m so happy to be here again — even if I’m just quietly lurking in the background. 💛 Thanks for being here. cass ps, can someone give me advice on what to start saving up for? I missed 4 (ish) expansion packs and tons of kits and stuff. Recommendations please!
How do I move my mods folder from disk C to D?
I have almost no space left in disk C and I want to move the mod, saves, and tray folders to disk D. I’ve read on how to do it but am still lost as some people say to simply move the location of the entire documents folder by changing it through properties, but others say you somehow need to link it so the game reads it as if it’s from disk C. Any advice on how to actually do this without destroying my game or losing CC/saves would be truly really appreciated.
Fairy Seedling Won't Plant
I have tried everything I can think of. At first, I couldn't even move it around because it said my sim didn't own it. But, after I put it into my inventory in build/buy, she owns it, and I can freely move it in and out of her personal inventory. Now, she won't plant it. I don't even get the option to plant the seedling. I've tried planting it just in the ground and it doesn't work. I've tried planting it into a planter and it doesn't work. Nothing works. Has anyone had this issue and what did you do to fix it? Thanks!
Nature's Calling week 2 aspiration was not completing due to delay triggering
I was stuck on week 2. I really don't like when I have to change my character's aspiration anyway, but under Nature aspiration I planted multiple plants (didn't even trigger the 3 things planted) and eco one that triggered one thing but when I voted on neighborhood thing it didn't trigger at all (see image attached!). No mods. Restarted multiple times. Cleared cache. Made sure downloads were up to date, currently on Version 1.116.223.1030 - just wanted to give heads up that it wasn't triggering on these two, but I finally got it to trigger on crystal crafter table after 4 tries purchasing the table (with restarts each time) and 3 ring gifts before it would complete this step. Not sure what the issue is, but buying the table shouldn't take that many attempts and the other steps should have triggered or finished as well.
Anyone else missing books, toys and mail?
I recently had a mod issue in my 100 baby save (I experimented with ww in the game, but didn't realize it would create a settings folder in my SAVE folder) where I had to track down mod elements and delete the files from my game, but afterwards, all my toys, books and mail are gone. I've NEVER opened a bookcase to find it completely empty, but mine is. So is my toybox and when I went to get the mail (because we all know the gifts are sent when kids age up and they're almost always toys) to replace the toys, there was nothing and the mailbox flag did not go down. I don't use many mods (one of the reasons I decided against adding ww) just mccc, ui cheats and panda's birthmod - they have all been updated recently. Just curious if anyone else had had this happen.
My Sims Keeps Crashing
I realized it started crashing since the recent update . I did the 50/50 with mods , It lets me load in but it crashes as soon as I leave cas mode(I also realized my toddler sims don’t have a makeup option anymore) . I’ve already tried repairing and removing problem mods I also tried reinstalling any extra advice helps! I also realized its specific to one household .
Missing tree skirt/present pile under tree
So after installing the new Star Wars patch I noticed I'm no longer seeing a tree skirt and present pile under the Christmas tree. I've had this happen in 2 new games so far. I can "remove present pile" and reset the skirt but applying a new one doesn't make any difference. I tried repairing the game but this had no effect. I tried buying a new tree and just adding the present pile. This time it appeared and I could apply all other decorations, however the tree skirt remained invisible. I have all packs/expansions etc. Tested this with and without mods (mods were moved to desktop during the test.)
