[PC] Dragon Age Unauthorized DLC Error After Launch
Hello, Thedas! PC players may encounter an error that says something similar to the "Unauthorized DLC", or your DLC does not show up within the game after being installed and therefore are not able to load a save, or play the downloaded content. Below are the most common reasons and steps to help resolve these errors and get you back into the game! Causes Corrupted install of DLC (happens quite often) EA account had an EA Play subscription which has now expired A different EA account logged in and downloaded the DLC Your account does not have the proper entitlements to download the DLC You can test this out by performing the following on one of the DLC folders, or delete all folders. Navigate to C:\Program Files\EA Games (Or your respective install location) Delete ALL DLC folders with the games "addin" folder I also suggest deleting the metadata folder as well if it does not delete You can find a list of which folders belong to each DLC Here! Folder Locations DA:O: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dragon Age\addins DA II: C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dragon Age II\addins Once all folders have been deleted, you will perform the following steps. These are optional steps but they do help in resolving the issue. Delete Windows Temp Files First, make sure you close as many programs as you can Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer Type in %temp%, and hit Enter Delete everything it allows you to delete Reboot the PC Optional Registry clean-up install CCleaner (it's free) from here Run Registry cleaner Click review selected issues Do you want to back up? No Click Fix all selected issues Finally Make sure the EA app and Steam are closed. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER Delete all files within this folder. Once all the steps above have been performed, log back into the platform you play the game through, repair the game, and install the DLC. Note: If you are using Steam to play one of these titles, the EA Help article for Legacy DLC players can download is ONLY used for Steam installs. All EA app installs will download DLC within the Manage Add-ons in the EA app! Cheers!🔧Maintenance: Dragon Age II – Temporary Downtime May 6, 2025🔧
Hey, folks Dragon Age II will be undergoing planned maintenance on May 6, so you might run into a few hiccups if you're launching the game that day. What to expect: The game’s system for checking for DLC content may cause errors during the downtime. You can still play the game offline, but you might see error messages or brief connection issues while the game tries to verify content. There’s no need to reinstall anything, and everything should return to normal once maintenance wraps up. Thanks for your patience while we take care of a few things behind the scenes. Update: Maintenance now completed. If you run into any issues with the game, please open a new thread and tag me! Thanks everyone.530Views2likes2CommentsНе запускается Dragon age 2
Solved316Views0likes8CommentsDragon Age 2 won't boot up.
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this issue, but I've been playing DA 2 for 20 hours total so far and the game was running pretty well, then all of a sudden during a cutscene the game crashes on me. I've tried to boot the game back up but it gives me the same response of "the game won't launch, there's an issue on our end that won't let the game launch". I've tried nearly everything, from uninstalling and reinstalling the game, to restarting the EA app, to repairing the files itself and I'm getting no luck. I've contacted support and they've said they'll report this to the team but I want to know if there's anyone else who's suffering the same issues and if they managed to find a way to fix this.EA Launcher canceling DA Game Launch
I was playing Dragon Age II when the game crashed. At, first I wasn’t too bothered as old games crash all the time, but now I’m concerned as the EA launcher won’t let the steam game launch initialize. I keep getting the error message that says “there seems to be a problem on our end” (EA Launch app) without specifying said problem. Now I’m just frustrated because I would like to play DA2 but I can’t even get into the game because of the launcher issues.SolvedDragon Age 2 Standard Edition-Ultimate Edition
I have Dragon Age 2 Standard on my account. A few years ago I picked up dlc packs for free because they were available. I noticed that in my library the game is listed as Standard Edition, not Ultimate Edition. To have the Ultimate version, the EA app asks you to purchase a new copy of the game. I checked the Ultimate Edition in and it has exactly the same add-ons and DLC as my Standard version, so why does it appear for me as a purchase of a new game ?Solved230Views0likes2CommentsIs it possible to obtain Dragon Age: Origins and 2 DLCs on EA app
I know that Dragon Age: Origins and DA2 DLCs were made free after removing BioWare points in 2022. Everywhere I searched I found that to get them I would have to purchase them in Origin Launcher in Extra Content tab. Unfortunatly Origin Servers were shut down a month ago. Can I somehow obtain them for free on EA app? I have standard editions of both games on EA app. I know that it is possible to download some of them from this page "https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/dlc-for-classic-games/#dragonage", but as far as I know there should be more, for example the HD texture pack for DA2 and Awakening for DA:O. Is buying whole games again from EA app store really the only way to get those DLCs to show in the launcher?219Views0likes1CommentQuestion about Authorizing/Acquiring DA2 DLC
So for clarity - I own Dragon Age 2 (and the Black Emporium). But I do not think I actually purchased any other DLC's. For some reason, I thought EA was giving them for free via their DLC for old games site where you can download and install them, but when I do that, it mentions (Unauthorized). In theory - this makes sense if you are supposed to purchase them. So I have 2 questions: Does EA only give you the option to download/install the DLC, but you in fact still need proof of purchasing the DLC in order to play it? Are there any options for buying the DLC that don't include purchasing DA2: Ultimate Edition? (Which seems to be the only solution I've seen offered).Solved199Views0likes6CommentsDA2 DLC Not Working
I purchased Dragon Age 2 Ultimate Edition off Steam back in the summer, when the annual Steam Summer Sale was going on. Ultimate Edition means that it came with all the DLCs, including the 3 extra story ones (The Exiled Prince, Mark of the Assassin, Legacy). I was prompted to make an EA account, did so, and then booted up the game. After logging in for a second time in the game, I checked the downloadable content tab. From the story DLC to the extra packs and trinkets, everything was said to be installed. I started the game, and didn’t focus on this aspect until I reached Act 2. Well, I have now hit a wall. None of the DLC seems to be available, no matter what I do. My home has none of the extra items mentioned, I cannot access the story DLCs. I’ve logged in and out of my account in the game, didn’t change a thing. EA’s proven to be absolutely 0 help, and I can’t even find a concrete answer online. So has anyone run into this problem and been able to fix it? I didn’t pay much for the game, but I’d still like my money’s worth considering I’m playing this game in order to experience the entire series.
